Cortez Farmers Market

Minutes from the March 10, 2008 Market Committee Meeting

Minutes from March 10 meeting

Good job on the county commissioners meeting! (Tom, FYI: the commissioners said yes pending Bill, the maintenance guy, saying he could hang it for us. Michele and I saw him in the parking lot and he didn’t seem to think it was any big deal, but the commissioners were going to give Bill Barbara’s number to finalize) Barbara, have you heard from Bill? I want to know for sure about hanging the banner before the Spring meeting.

Tom, were you planning on inviting Melissa to the Spring meeting? We think it would be good to have her there – let me know if you want me to call her.

I emailed Fiona to ask if she can alter the background of the Leeks illustration for our poster, to look more like our landscape, maybe including the Sleeping Ute. I let her off the hook for the logo, and I’ll do artwork for the “burly basket dude” and bring it to the next meeting to decide if we want to use that for our logo.

I’ll talk to the Journal tomorrow and schedule the room for our introductory Friends meeting. I’m going to the Cortez Garden Club’s meeting this week to see if anyone is interested. Remember to email me your prospects so I can invite them. I just started getting the magazine “Farmers Markets Today” and they have some cool ideas for community involvement at market that can be passed along to the Friends. I’ll bring it to our next meeting.

I didn’t take very good notes, but I enjoyed the revolutionary conversation! Let me know if I’m missing anything major.

Next meeting: how’s Tues., April 1 noon at Let It Grow? We’ll mostly be planning the spring meeting agenda.

peace, Laurie
