Farmers Market Spring Meeting 05/07/2010

The Farmers Market Spring meeting was held on May 7, 2010 at the Calvin Denton Room at the Empire Electric building.

The new Market Manager, Theresa Titone, was introduced to those in attendance.

Theresa is already hard at work getting all of the things done that are need before the Market opens for the season.

Theresa will be on a previous planned vacation for the first 2 weeks of June, but will be there after that to help with all of the questions and all of the other hard duties of Market Manager.

Andy Carter will be filling the Market Manager position until Theresa can be present.

The Vendors from last year were able to fill-out the application and receive a Permit to sell at the Farmers Market during the 2010 season.  Everyone had a look at the New Space Assignment Map.

Committee member, Andy Carter was present with the new map of the space assignments.

Some spaces may still need to be moved to accommodate the changes made to the parking lot.  However, Andy is trying very hard to insure, vendors are as close as possible to their previous location.  The final map will be ready before the Market opens on June 5 and Tom Hooten of the Extension Office will have a copy for those who wish to inquire.

We have been assured that the Parking Lot will be finished and ready for the Farmers Market to use before the first Market on June 5th.

A REMINDER TO ALL OF LAST YEARS VENDORS!

The last day to sign-up and receive a guaranteed space assignment is MAY 17, 2010.

Please go the Extension Office to sign-up.  You will need to complete the new application and pay your fee to insure you have a space for the 2010 Market.

After May 18, new vendor applications will be considered for any unassigned spaces.

Lynn Dyer presented an over-view of the requests that have been submitted for the 2011-2012 Grant.  She and Lew have worked very hard to get it ready and we all owe them a big THANK YOU for all of their hard work.  Lynn will let us know if the requested funding for the next 2 years is granted.

EVERYONE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO A VERY SUCCESSFUL MARKET IN 2010.
